I thought there was easy practical advice/instructions for the average horse owner to help maintain their horses back. Simple to follow exercises and good diagrams.

The book is very helpful! Thank you for putting all that information together and making it available.

A marvelous piece of writing which gives horse owners a true idea as to how to help and heal their loyal four legged friends. This book is informative, yet easy to understand.

Sally Plummer from Chesterfield
Every horse owner should read this at least once. Written in a lay-man's format it gives expert advice.

I enjoyed the book and it really gave me a great understanding of my horses back issues.

This book should be compulsory reading for anyone who owns a horse! I am absolutely convinced that the majority of "problem" horses are in pain -- probably in the back, whether primary or secondary. I went in search of a book like yours because my young mare unexpectedly started cow-kicking and nipping at saddling time and I could not figure out why. I immediately thought "pain in the back" but I couldn't figure out why since there was no known injury and nothing else had changed... until I discovered that a friend who started riding her occasionally was using her own saddle, not mine. When we both used my saddle, the problem went away. In the meantime, I have a treasure-trove of excellent info. I have an Irish Wolfhound and will have to by your canine back book.

The book gave helpful, practical advice on what signs to look for and what to do about them - whether that was to look deeper to find the problem and do something about it, or to call in help in the form of a vet or someone like Jill. It became obvious that horses react to discomfort and pain in a specific way and most of the time, are not just being difficult. My horse wouldn't let us mount suddenly, and after calling in a McTimoney practitioner, was back to his normal self! My awareness of such a person would not have occurred had I not downloaded this book!

I'm from Denmark, and I think the language is very easy to understand. I work every day with horse treatment (Equine Massage) and find your book very helpful - The Horses Back is - as you know - one of the most common problems when working with horse treatments. Good Work!!!

At a very stressful time, having found out that I had bought my daughter what was supposed to be her dream come true, when in fact he was a sweet pony with major back problems, I found the book useful and comprehensive. We had had instructions from a physio but the descriptions and photos in your book helped make sense of what she had said. It became well travelled, being taken to our yard every night, through out a cold January where my daughter & I would call instructions out to each other as a reminder. Thank you

Very useful informative book, concisely written for the everyday rider to understand. Lots of useful tips to help us take better care of our four legged friends.

Nicki Fear from Maidenhead
My horse was diagnosed with Kissing Spines last February - if I had read the book before this I would probably have recognised the signs much earlier. Having said that the book is a great help in guiding me in areas that I can help relieve some of the problems. I also found the massage chapter really good and lets me feel that I might be helping to relieve some of the pain as well as building a strong bond with my horse.

Andrea Warrington from Kent
A very clear and useful book which I have constantly used as a reference book. I have recommended other friends too.

Kirsteen Smith from Perthshire
This is a fantastic guide for horse owners that do not have very much technical knowledge about the anatomy of a horse. Easy to understand and very informative.

Laurie Spicer from Buckinghamshire
I thought the book was very useful. I qualified as a Bowen Therapist for horses in 2004. For my qualification, I had to do a lot of studying in my own time about various aspects of the horse's anatomy and physiology. I enjoyed reading the book and would recommend it.

Sara Hutton-Antepoulou from Greece
A well written and very informative book, the practical advice given has helped me immensely in treating my mare's back problems. She's feeling much better, by the way.

Rebecca Hirst from Aberdeenshire
The book was clear and very easy to read with useful information on stretches for the horse that could be followed at home.

Claire Emmerson from York
I found this book helped me a lot with my studies especially the practical instructions as they were easy to follow. I found this book to be very interesting.

Karen Mayfield from Arkansas, USA
Even though our horse cannot be ridden again for some time if ever, due to a back injury before we ever bought him, I have found the exercises helpful in working with our other horses to prevent back injury. Also, my hurt horse enjoys the massages and stretching exercises. Very good book.
