This is a new forum - all about gait, locomotion, back and limb problems in horses and dogs.

Once you have registered, you can post a question in any of the forums and/or answer any of the existing questions but, please, no advertising or promoting products etc.

To get the forum started Jill herself has answered many of the typical questions she gets asked in her work as a McTimoney animal practitioner - so have a look at these, your answer might be here.

You can find out more about Jill from her web site The Back In Balance Practice where you can also see her current horses - The Back In Balance Boys!

Jill has also written 2 ebooks which you can download from her web site:

1. "Looking After Your Horse's Back" - guides you through the anatomy of the horse?s back and how it works before going on to discuss the many factors which can affect the horse?s back and his general mobility. Then there is a large self-help section, which will teach you to assess your horse?s back and his general mobility and perform some useful massage techniques and mobility exercises.

2. "Canine Athletes and Couch Pet-atoes" - in which Jill explains the anatomy of the dog's spine and the causes of mobility problems in dogs, including slipped discs, how to assess your dog's mobility, how to recognise early signs of problems. She also shows you how to massage your dog and how to perform mobility exercises that improve your dog's suppleness and performance. There is also a section about complementary therapies and their usefulness.
